"The
picture in the tweet displays an archived conversation between
Overwatch heros Torbjorn and Mercy, discussing the blueprints for a
prototype "biotic" rifle. This rifle is a combination of the biotic
technology that powers Mercy's Cadeceus Staff and Soldier 76's Biotic
Field. In the conversation Mercy is concerned about the weaponization of
biotic technology." (Akshon esports)
Here's what it says.
As discussed, this is the proposed rifle that could be equipped by medics in the field. Despite what my esteemed colleague will surely suggest, the application of her biotic technology is only intended to be used for healing.
— Torbjorn
While Torbjörn has, as ever, put forth a very clever design for his latest weapon,” Dr. Angela “Mercy” Ziegler responds, “I would like to remind everyone that my intention when agreeing to the development of different biotic delivery mechanisms was to save the lives of Overwatch agents and others in need of medical aid. With this latest proposal, it is clear to me that we are on the slippery slope to modifications that will inevitably result in a weaponized version of this technology: something that I have been completely opposed to from the beginning.
— Mercy
Sounds awesome! These characters all have interesting unique personalities even outside of the actual game. From clues that gamers have put together we know Sombra is a masked hero similar to Soldier 76 and Reaper. In Dorado, there are files directed toward Soldier 76 referring to a masked sniper hero (Sombra). Also, Reaper has a dialog where he says,"Where is Sombra when you need her?" It remains to be seen wheather or not she is on the side of justice or a cool super villain.
"Overwatch fans have been making connections between these points and come up with a rather interesting theory – Sombra was a soldier in the same conflict that supposedly killed Reaper and Soldier 76, who both resurfaced as mask-wearing combat experts." (vg247)
The idea of a sniper healing through shooting sounds amazing. It seems like my kind of thing because I love sniping in fps games and I also like healing too. This seems like the most interesting idea Blizzard has brought to the table with overwatch-at least for me. It's also cool how fans have come to the conclusion that Sombra is Pharah's mother. We'll have to wait and see how this unfolds.
